AppleTV & AndroidTV Getting Started

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for setting up and troubleshooting your AppleTV or AndroidTV with Unicam.

Creating an Account

Before setting up your SmartTV, you need to create an account:

  1. Download the App: Install the Unicam app on your Android or iOS phone or tablet.
  2. Sign Up: Open the app and sign up using either your Google/Apple account or your email address.

Note: Manual login using email and password is intentionally disabled on Smart TVs due to the difficulty of typing with a remote. The QR code setup process is designed to be more user-friendly.

Setting Up Your SmartTV

Once your account is successfully created, follow these steps:

  1. Launch the App: Open the app on your SmartTV platform.
  2. Scan QR Code: A QR code will appear on your TV screen. On your phone or tablet, open the app, go to Settings -> Profile -> Login on another device. Scan the QR code displayed on your SmartTV.
  3. Automatic Setup: After scanning, the setup will complete automatically. You should now see all your added devices and layouts on your SmartTV.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues while logging in via QR code:

  • Exit and Re-enter App: Close the app on your SmartTV and then reopen it.
  • Reinstall the App: If the above step doesn't work, try uninstalling and then reinstalling the app on your SmartTV.
  • Contact Support: If you're still unable to resolve the issue, please contact our support team for assistance.
